Gato Malo has long been a favorite vacation rental home in Rockport because of its beautiful setting on Copano Bay, the 400 foot private lighted fishing pier, and its waterfront swimming pool. This luxury, pet friendly home features 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms that will accommodate up 14 people. Sweeping views of Copano Bay can be enjoyed from the open concept living and dining area as well as the large upper deck.
The fishing is fantastic on Copano Bay and you will have the opportunity to catch trout, redfish, flounder, and black drum from the privacy of your backyard along the lighted fishing pier. Sporting two T-heads with fish attracting LED spot lights and a fish cleaning station, this property is the ultimate fishing destination.
For those just wanting to relax, the cooling waters of the swimming pool and the nightly sunsets are the perfect setting for unwinding. (Please note that this home does not have a hot tub). Inside, you will find a large, fully equipped kitchen with plenty of counter space. Each themed bedroom has its own smart TV set up for streaming. The house was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained. The management company was extremely responsive and easy to work with. It’s an excellent choice for families with kids, with everything conveniently located on one floor (two stairways lead into the home). Parking was plentiful, and the long pier was a huge bonus—fishing was fantastic, with plenty of big keepers. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this property.

This was a great experience for me and my family. The set up is awesome with the private pier, pool, and living space under the house. The grill is great for a cookout and they have all the kitchen equipment that you need to make a great meal. Although we didn’t catch anything worth keeping , the experience of getting out there and go fishing is one I know my kids will remember forever. The room setup is perfect for a large family or multiple families. We would love to return to this place, this house is perfect.

Both the pool and pier were private which was nice. We caught several fish off the pier (Black Drum, Croaker, catfish) and several kids caught their very first fish. The pool was a nice getaway for both kids and adults. Water as a little cold but very clean. Sitting areas and bay view was wonderful and relaxing. Kitchen was huge and spacious which we loved. Host Dawn answered all my questions and in a very timely manner. The whole family loved the get-away and quality time together!

14 members of my family, including for teens and for preteens, had a great time at your place. The Fishing was OK, not great. The swimming pool was a big hit, especially in the heat of the day. The large living room and kitchen served our purposes well. Plenty of room to play games and enjoy meals together. It was especially nice to have five bedrooms, because escape from the noise was doable.Not a problem to go to town. A well stocked HEB was near enough to get the ice cream home before it melted. Tackle town, a popular tackle shop, had everything we need for Fishing. Highly recommend Flemming’s bait stand in the Rockport Harbor.Had a problem with a door handle falling off, and Dawn had it fixed within eight hours. Plenty of dishes, utensils, and glasses.We will be back again, in the future.

The house was beautiful and everything we could have wanted for a family gathering. We had 13 people and there was plenty of room. Plenty of hot water! We had washer going and people showering at the same time with no problem. The kids had the best time going from swimming in the pool to fishing on the pier and back again. Would highly recommend.
